ABOUT JOE

On October 17, 2023, Joe OHaire was hit on his motorcycle by an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer in Lufkin, Texas ~ and Lived.  The road to recovery has been slow, with at first several months spent in hospitals in Houston and Kingwood, Texas. Since then, he has had surgery for abdominal reconstruction, which unfortunately was not a success, so another is scheduled for Oct 2025.

Joe O’Haire extends his heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support received during his journey to recovery. As Joe himself has recently expressed, he is profoundly humbled and thankful for the outpouring of love and encouragement.

As his recovery continues, Joe has started slowly to recapture images he has taken while doing some local traveling, and slowly looks to extend his range to get back to what he does best, capturing the elements of his travels. Look for new and updated photos to be posted here on this website soon.

JOE O'HAIRE

"When I was just seven years old I took my first photo.  Days later I was surprised to discover my photo made the cover of a major local paper. My passion for documenting the world around me began at this young age and has grown steadily since.

A self-taught photographer, my technical skills developed as I traveled around the country on my motorcycle, documenting my travels.  First through film photography and now in the digital medium, I have refined my craft and continue to learn as I shoot and publish my work.

Photography was a hobby for much of my life until the demand for my pictures allowed this work to become my full-time profession.

My work hangs in homes and commercial venues throughout the U.S. as well as in publications and websites.  Many of the portraits I take are candid and spontaneous and it is this authenticity that draws people to my work.  I bring this quality of fresh, unchoreographed truth to both my private and commercial work.

My deepest satisfaction is to see my pictures within the venues and homes of clients & and friends.   Allowing others to experience the moments of inspiration and insight that compel me to take a particular shot brings me true satisfaction."
